Welcome to Tuition Lab!
These terms and conditions outline the rules and regulations for the use of Tuition Lab's Website, located at https://www.tuitionlab.co.uk.
By accessing this website, we assume you accept these terms and conditions. Do not continue to use Tuition Lab if you do not agree to take all of the terms and conditions stated on this page.
This agreement applies between you, the Client, and Tuition Lab (a trading name of Mathema Stars Ltd). Your agreement to comply with and be bound by these terms and conditions is deemed to occur when you first make contact via Tuition Lab website or liaise directly with Tuition Lab. No variation or alteration of these terms and conditions shall be valid unless approved in writing by Tuition Lab. Tuition Lab reserves the right to alter and update these terms and conditions.
Tutorials
By agreement of these Terms of Business a contractual relationship is formed by Tuition Lab Tutors and the Client whereby Tuition Lab acts as an agent of the Tutor providing introductions of Tutors to clients and vice versa. Tuition Lab collects the fees in advance on behalf of the Tutor.
Scheduled tutorials will always take place on the day and time and venue agreed upon by the Client and the Tutor. Lessons will continue until a mutually agreed termination date. A written notification must be made to Tuition Lab.
Tuition Lab Tutors strive to provide the best possible service. However, we cannot be held liable, accountable or responsible for the academic success or lack thereof demonstrated by the Client. Although we are willing to do everything within our power to help grades and skill sets improve, we cannot offer any guarantee of this.
Any opinion given or spoken by the Tutor is not necessarily the expression of opinion of Tuition Lab.
Payment for Tuition
Fees are agreed prior to tuition commencing between Tuition Lab and the Client.
They are not to be agreed with the Tutor or paid to the Tutor direct. Fees are normally a standard rate appropriate to the level of the tuition being provided.
Bookings are made in advance for the month/4 sessions. Bookings must be paid in advance, in full, direct to Tuition Lab prior to the commencement of the first session.
Tuition Lab spends significant time researching Client’s needs, processing data and sourcing the best possible tutors to match the student’s needs. We therefore require a one-off fee of £24 for registration and administration.
Invoices are due to be paid no later than 7 days from the date of the invoice or before the first session of the month. In the event of late or no payment, Tuition Lab reserves the right to cancel sessions.
Referrals and Discounts
At Tuition Lab, we value the support of our loyal clients and believe in rewarding those who help spread the word about our tutoring services. Our Referral Program allows both existing and new clients to enjoy significant savings.
Here’s how it works:
Referral Discount: For every successful referral, both you and your friend will receive a 15% discount on your first session (for the new client) or the next upcoming session (for the existing client), whichever comes first.
How to Refer: To ensure you and your friend receive the discount, simply ask your friend to mention your name when they contact Tuition Lab.
Eligibility for Discount: To qualify for the referral discount, the referred friend must complete a minimum of four (4) tutoring sessions.
Applying the Discount: You may choose to have the discount applied directly to your next invoice or request it as a refund. By default, the discount will be credited to your next payment unless otherwise specified.
Core Subject Discount (Individual Tuition): Register for all three core subjects (Maths, English, and Science) and receive a 5% discount on tuition fees.
Core Subject Discount (Group Tuition): Register for all three core subjects (Maths, English, and Science) in group classes, and receive an 8% discount on tuition fees.
No two discounts to be used in conjunction. In such case the highest discount will be applied
Cancellation
Individual Sessions:
Cancellation or rescheduling of individual classes must be made with at least 24 hours’ notice to Tuition Lab. No refunds will be provided for cancellations made after this period.
Group Sessions:
If a student is enrolled in a group session, cancellations are non-refundable unless a minimum of 24 hours’ notice is given. Group sessions require a minimum of three (3) students to run. At the Tutor’s discretion, a session may continue with two (2) students present.
Unforeseen Circumstances
Tuition Lab is aware that classes may need to be rearranged or cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances. In such cases, Tuition Lab will act accordingly.
Client Delays or Absence
In the event of delay from the Client, the Tutor is not obligated to wait for more than 10 minutes and has no obligation to reschedule the session, but may offer a reschedule at their discretion. In the case of a delay due to late arrival of the Client, the session may still end at the prescribed time. No refunds will be provided.
Tutor Delays or Absence
In the event a Tutor fails to attend a scheduled session without prior notice, Tuition Lab will endeavour to reschedule as soon as possible, or refund the Client for the missed lesson.
Contract Termination
The Client may cancel their contract with Tuition Lab at any time, provided written notice is given at least 5 working days before the next scheduled session. Refunds will be issued for unused sessions (excluding the non-refundable registration fee).
Dispute resolution
In the event of a dispute between you and the Tutor, please contact Tuition Lab representative directly via email learn@tuitionlab.co.uk or call/message to 07956990109.
Tuition stopped by a Tutor or Tuition Lab
If a Tutor, for any reason, has to stop tuition mid-course, Tuition Lab seek to minimise disruption to the pupil’s progress and will endeavour to source a replacement Tutor as soon as possible, subject to availability.
